♥ Juniors In Need

I was told that this university do not accept clearing students at all this year. Which means that all my PNB juniors who failed to meet the minimum requirement of their pre-offer letter will be forced to study in Australia or Malaysia, especially if their appeal effort do not come through. Someone told me there are about six to seven poor souls who is currently stranded with no place to go, thanks to PNB's strict policy when it comes to university choices.

One of my juniors have contacted me and ask various questions regarding Australia, its education, its community and university's requirements. I wonder where the others seek help from. It's not that I'm the only one here that they could ask help from, but I'm here for them to have options and extra opinions. You know, people have different sights on things. And some people only share the outer life of Australia, and some aren't as keen to help. I just hope that they aren't as shy to ask, because I never bite. Unless if it's edible~ XD

During my time, I was very disappointed with one of my seniors. I pushed away all my shyness just to ask some important questions about UQ and life at Brisbane to someone older than me with utter respect. But what did I get in return?

'I really don't like it when people get too scared of the unknown. There's nothing to be scared of, especially when making mistakes. That's the only way you will learn. I was alone when I first came here as well, but I survived. You should be able to too.'

Yup, that's what she replied me with. Don't you just feel like hot-peppering her tongue? Well, she didn't exactly say it, more like she wrote it through email, but you get the point right? What's the use of being a senior if you can't help? What's the use of having juniors if you think you're better off alone? We're in a community. We're under the same sponsorship. Wake up and look around you and see how many selfish bastards are out there when it comes to helping someone in need.

I'm glad that she's already gone since the beginning of 2010. Hell, she even had to take a summer course during her final year to able her to graduate in time. Slacker~ I'm certainly NOT going to do something like that to my juniors.

I would love it if they would want to join me here in Queensland. But maybe I would be asking too much since University of Melbourne is much much more well-known by other Malaysian. Many would kill to get in, I suppose. But if you look at the rankings carefully, ANU is a BETTER university yet no one really knew about its existence, and UQ is only 3 steps away from the top rank anyways. So why bother with all the trouble when you can come to the peaceful St Lucia, save money and enjoy a calming weather on every season and still be in a really really good university?

Yeah... Malaysians and their lame mentality...
