♥ It's hard going international...

I don't know where to start. But I've been feeling the pressure of keeping a good image in front of people when I'm here in Australia. Firstly, is to keep the image of a good Malaysian, and secondly, is to keep a good image as a muslim. The latter seems more important for me, once you're outside of the comfortable shell of an Islamic country.

Now, they're having a debate about banning Muslim women from wearing a burqa (face cover/purdah as what u call it in Malaysia) because there has been a robbery by someone wearing burqa just a few days ago, somewhere in Melbourne, I think. Gosh, just because of that robbery, one of the opposition of Australian government has decided and is trying to forward this to the Parliament. They want to ban this for fear of terrorism in Australia. Such stupid excuse. Some of the Australian citizens voiced during the street interviews conducted by one of the TV channels company that everyone should be allowed to do what they want in this free country. And of course this is inclusive all people from all races and beliefs. =.= They even interviewed some burqa-wearing women and surprisingly, these two women aren't even from those Arabian countries at all. They ARE Australian and they have chose to wear the burqa out of their Islamic beliefs. If burqa are banned in Australia, then, how would they live in their own home country?

Yup, for your info, even if they say that Australia is a multi-national country and that they welcome all sorts of people in here, we still have to admit that some of them objects the presence of Muslim people. It's just that they can't voice them out loud because of the legislation. But you can definitely see it from the way they look at Muslim women who covers their heads. And it's even worse if the Muslim women covers up ALL of their heads. It's really like seeing an alien descending from Planet 51. Or might I say it more specifically, it's a look of disgust. =(

Its not in my place to say this, but some of those white people really are exaggerating their position in this society. They think they own this country. And their status is higher than all the Asian migrated Australian. It's really annoying when you meet these sorts of Australians. There is this one influential Australian women who wants to sell her $2mil land, and a Muslim has contacted her and say that they're interested to buy the land. Honestly speaking, she's a pure racist and she objects the request due to the fact that the person is a Muslim. And this news went up in the televisions, announcing how she extremely objects any Muslim to buy her land, and she will not allow any Asian to either, because she wants to kick all the Asians' @ss out of Australia because she believes that Australia is ONLY for white Australian people. They're are the true descendants of this land and BLA BLA BLA~ Gosh, luckily the Australian law does not agree with her decision. =) And I have no idea how the case progressed because they stopped reporting about it.  And later, I was told that even Australians don't like this women. I felt a tiny bit glad to hear this.

And what is more saddening is the fact that some of the people here don't even know what Islam is. That is why they oppose of people wearing head-covers. They thought that  Islam is just like any other culture, which is like an Arabic culture. So whatever the Arabic women do, they think it's the Islamic way. So they call the burqa as the ISLAMIC burqa, when in the actual truth, it's only the Arabic women's way of wearing the head-covers. It's a culture, not the Islamic way. DUHHHHH~

And in France, they're also on the way of banning the burqa. But I don't really care about that country. It's not a multi-national free country like what Australia is. For the fact that Australian has declared this, I would prefer to see more acceptance from fellow citizens. Just that, nothing else. Don't call this country a free country if they still can't accept some of the people and their beliefs as willingly as others.

And about being a good Malaysian thingy... Gosh, it's extremely annoying when they keep on looking down on you just because you can't speak the English language as good as them. Just because you're having this weird slang, they kept on making it big that they can't even understand what you're saying. HELLO~~ Malaysian slangs aren't that bad okay! Try listen to those people form China, they can't even pronounce the combined letters properly! GAHH! >.< What so high and mighty about speaking English language with a proper slang? It's just another language, a set of letters, and a way of communication. Slangs and pronunciation may differ, and it's definitely not the reason to look down upon the Asian people in general. Instead, they should be ashamed of themselves. Most Asians knows at least two languages and they can speak them in everyday lives. What about them? They only know English, and perhaps has learned a bit of French. But all they can speak and understand is the English language. BLUEEKKK~ So even if I curse you in Malay with a smile on my face, you wouldn't even know it... Wahaha!!!

Ok. I think that's enough of my emo-ish rants. I'll be back much much later for more! :D
