| ♥ Ten Most Common Misconceptions About Islam I'm very busy. And will get even busier until the end of next month. Oh God... I'm so anxious, so worried about my final exams. I didn't expect that level 3 subjects would be this hard. It feels like such a leap in my required academic capacity. I wouldn't mind so much if I'm given a textbook and clear lecture notes to refer to (except for Income Tax Law. sigh!!). At least I'm able to tackle the subject through different point of views. But for my finance course... argh. The lecture notes only contain short explanations and very few simple examples. The rest of the content can be ONLY obtained from the lecturer, that is when she's giving the lecture. No textbook, no proper document for reference... Aish... There's not even a proper case study that we can look through! Anyways, that's not the main topic for today. My ex-housie shared this link on her facebook, and I find it quite interesting. However, we aren't allowed to take out the article, so I'm just listing them down for you. So if you're interested to know more, feel free to click on the link given at the end of this list. :)
People who'd always lived in a Muslim country/community all their lives rarely notice these things. It is when I'm out here that I can see with my own eyes, how they behaved around us, and what their personal conceptions about us might be. This is when I'm able to see reality. Even though they don't say it, or tries hard not to show it, we can still see that some of them are very cautious. Some of them could be seen looking down on us. And some of them tend to act differently, e.g: avoiding eye-contact. Some of the bold ones even screamed 'terrorists!!' on our faces when they see us, even when we're only out shopping for groceries. However, there are also some of them who doesn't care, and prefers to stay out of the way. And only God knows what went through their minds then. The public has been misconcepted by many parties, and it could come from various sources. I have a twitter account, and all those accounts which I follow are mainly related to Islam. One day I was shocked that I was followed by one account called 'Ant!Syar!aBot'. I clicked on it and read the few tweets that it has posted. Astaghfirullah, they're spreading such unforgivable fitnah's! These are the people who tried to twist and turn the facts of Islam and turn it into an offensive accusation. e.g: The Hudud Law. They tweeted that in Islam, it was compulsory for all thieves to have their hands cut off as the punishment, and they emphasized that it is an act of cruelty to the humanity. So they concluded that Islam is a cruel religion, etc. Astaghfirullah... I immediately blocked the stupid bastard. -_- Just... search through the very basic cores of a religion before you decide to challenge the facts. It is actually an ugly world out there. But fear not, fellow Muslims. Allah is always by our sides, InsyaAllah. :) |
