| ♥ Outward Bound Malaysia, Lumut (OBML) As part of the pre-departure program, PNB has required us to attend a 25-days course in OBML starting from 1/7/09 until 25/7/09. I know most of you have never even heard of this thing. Same here! The first time I was told about it, I was completely clueless and prayed for God's help that things will not turn out as worse as I'd imagine. A few days before the course, I was too nervous that I dare not think about it at all!! But life has to go on. Unless I'm planning to willingly release my scholarship, it is compulsory to attend this. So on 1/7/09, after a bit of briefing at the headquartes (Menara PNB), the 16 of us were brought to OBML by a 44-seater bus (imagine how much space each of us have for the 4 hours' journey) XDD. Thanks to the existence of deja vu, congratulate me for forseeing this place a thousand times in my dreams. It's obvious that God wants me to come here anyways. The place was very2 near to Teluk Batik. For participants, OBML is also known as the base and it is located right at the beach of Teluk Muruh. It is surrounded by 40% sea water and 65% trees of Hutan Teluk Muruh. The other 5% is where an Ikan Bakar restaurant is at. LOL! Anyways, stop mouth-watering on your way there because this place is also the prison for people who dislike adventures and uncivilised community. Gosh, that sounds horrible doesn't it? Well, personally I do like this place and I will forever keep it in my heart. Of course, this comes along after time goes on and when we started to understand life. =) Why do I say that this place is uncivilised? Firstly, during registration, u'll have to submit your handphones+chargers, iPod/MP3, wallet+money, IC, outside food (no chocs, candies, chewing gums n junk foods allowed) and storybooks/magazines/newspapers etc until what's left is you+undies+clothes+shoes+socks+specs and luggage. We'll have to endure this for another 25 days... =( What made it worse is that this is longest course in any of the Outward Bounds around the world!! Shorter courses are available but this 25 days course bring more Pros and Cons than those courses (4/5/7/10/21 days). For example, I was told that the Certificate of Completion from this 25-days course can enable a person to demand for higher pay, and for those who are unemployed, this cert is sort of bonus you can present to ur potential employers. But the fee for this course is RM2,500 for corporate and rm1,500 for individuals and also the activities are very close to torture~!! Nggaaaa~~~ For this 25-days course, we are required to fulfill 5 expeditions (2 sea, 2 land, 1 sea & land expeditions). I'll tell about the expeditions in another post along with pics! If I'm in the mood, the post is gonna be SUPER long~ ;P So basically, we've spent 14 days out of base (when we go for expeditions) and another 11 days in base. Let me tell you, until this day, my whole legs and arms are still aching BADLY due to the extreme activities. Everything was FUN, but only if you've gone through it completely.
